Re: New Paddle
In Response To: Re: New Paddle ()

So far so good. I took it out today and gave it a good test in the wind. I am pretty sure that if I had rigged up a yoke I could have flown it like a kite. The waves weren't too bad out on the sound, but it was blowing really hard. The paddle really wanted to pick up and fly away, but I held on tight. In between wind gusts I really noticed the lighter swing weight and the smooth entry and exit from the water. It was a bit kerplunky on all but a perfectly placed entry, but miles better than my old blade. It has tons of bracing and skulling force, and although I didn't roll with it today, I am pretty sure it will work well for that too. I think I am gonna enjoy the Ikelos.

: Chris, congrats on your excellent choice of paddle. I've been
: paddling with a 210 cm Ikelos for 4 seasons and love it.
: Provides a lot of power when you need it and is super smooth
: moving through the water. Rolling is easy and you can roll with
: either side of the blade since the back is flat. The flotation
: in the foam core makes doing Greenland tricks like a balance
: brace a piece of cake. I was out in the winds last night and as
: Doug said be careful to hang on to it since it is so light.
: Enjoy your new Euro stick! Ron
