Re: river camping

Anyone who has paddled in Middletown on the CT River has passed by Wilcox Island. I know some of you have paddled up the Mattabesset. This area could be a good half-way point between River Highlands and Hurd State Park. Keep a low profile for the night, and no will know you've been there except for paddling Paul, who knows this section of river better than anyone. I've also hiked at River Highlands. It is a lovely area down by the water, and worth the hike up to the ridge, if you do camp out in that location.

assume you've seen this:

: the map is clickable with further info on each map.

: guerrilla camping is also easy many places on the river. keep a low
: profile. pull boat well ashore behind the bushes. set-up tent
: late and leave early and leave no trace...classic river touring
: style.

: have fun!
