: Yes River Highlands SP, Hurd SP & Gillette Castle SP are open
: to river camping. some friends and I just resently completed a
: Kayaking trip down the CT River and stayed at River Highlands SP
: and Gillette Castle SP. The only place I know to park your car
: at River Highlands is the little parking lot up by the road. You
: will then have to hike down to the camp site unless you come by
: water.

thanks for your help. the websites said something about being closed due to lack of funds and had not even heard of river highlands river campsite till this year. now if i can figure out where on the river it is and where to leave the car overnight to paddle to the campsite. i don't want to park too close. wanna get in a few miles of paddling.

i've been wanting to plan a trip maybe from hartford down to the ocean but can't seem to find enough campsites to make it work. sounds like fun though -doesn't it?
