Re: Four Mile River
In Response To: Re: Four Mile River ()

: We went up 4-mile river a way. It was pretty, but short. There are
: plenty of other tidal marsh rivers that are longer if you want
: to spend a few hours on the water in a nice place. Branford
: river is one, Great Island, Old Lyme is another place that
: accesses two side rivers. The current can be fairly strong at
: the launching, so it's helpful to know what the tides are doing.
: Another nice trip is the Salmon river in East Haddam. There is a
: state launching right at the mouth where it joins the
: Connecticut River. It can be a good place when it is too windy
: elsewhere, and the currents don't tend to be as strong.
