ConnYak Rescue Clinic is listed on the event colander with an alternate location of Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. This is the same weekend as the Kayaker Jamboree. It would be cool if those that come to the alternate location paddle over to the Jamboree on Shea Island after the ConnYak Rescue Clinic.
If you are attending the Jamboree, you can send me your name and I can put you on a list to get free entrance into Calf Pasture Beach Park. The list will go to the Parks and Rec. Department of Norwalk. Kayakers on my list will be allowed to just drive into the park.
Aside from the Jamboree the Coast Guard Auxiliary Norwalk Flotilla will have an open house that same day at the Coast Guard Auxiliary building in Calf Pasture Beach Park.
On Shea Island we will have an Environmental Presentation: Sara da Silva, president of the Norwalk River Watershed Association, and Environmental Scientist for Nelson, Pope & Voorhis, LLC will present a program on Long Island Sound ecology followed by a nature walk to explore Shea Islandís ecosystems.
