As our annual Autumn Gales symposium is fast approaching, we always like to get the word out on the streets about our off-water happenings that are free and open to the paddling community.
This years Saturday evening presentation is about Sailing to and Sea Paddling in Antarctica.
The presenter is one of our International Guest at the Autumn Gales symposia, Axel Schoevers. Axel is a BCU coach and international guide from the Netherlands. He enjoys paddling in and introducing paddlers to more dynamic sea environments. Axel is a frequent coach/guide to Anglesey, and he has been coaching/guiding in place like Wales, Scotland, Cornwall, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, USA, Australia, Tasmania, and Baja Mexico. Axel runs his own business SeaKayak.NL in the Netherlands with his business partner Nico. We've known Axel for many years now and he is a featured coach at Nigel's symposium in Anglesey.
In 2017 Axel was part of a sailing and paddling expedition that took off from Ushuaia Argentina. Then sailed across the great Drakes passage down into the Antarctic Peninsula for the sea kayaking portion of the expedition and sailed back. We are excited to hear about this journey. So please make plans to come listen in.
